PREFABRICATION

ELECTRICAL PREFABRICATION

electrical prefabricated solutions

DPI Electric & Communications integrates electrical prefabrication with BIM coordination, project planning, and field execution to move critical portions of electrical work into a controlled shop environment before they reach the job site.

Our approach connects digital models and detailed shop drawings with prefabrication and installation planning—helping project teams bring greater consistency, precision, and predictability to complex electrical construction.

DPI supports this workflow through in-house technical capabilities and a dedicated prefabrication shop in Flemington, New Jersey.

BIM-DRIVEN PREFABRICATION

At DPI, prefabrication begins well before assembly.

Our BIM workflow creates coordinated building information models in which individual elements contain installation and prefabrication information. This allows coordinated project data to move beyond visualization and become actionable information for shop and field teams.

DPI uses eVolve MEP integrated with Autodesk Revit to support electrical modeling, detailing, and prefabrication.

This BIM-to-prefab connection is important. Current electrical-construction practice increasingly treats disciplined upstream modeling as the foundation for effective prefabrication and field execution.

SHOP-TO-FIELD EXECUTION

Planned Before It Reaches the Job Site

Moving selected electrical assembly work into a dedicated shop environment allows work to be prepared under more controlled conditions before installation in the field.

For complex projects, that can support more consistent assemblies, organized material flow, reduced job-site congestion, and more predictable installation sequencing.

DPI connects prefabrication with installation planning and sequencing so shop work is developed around how the electrical systems will ultimately be installed in the field.

BUILT AROUND THE PROJECT

Prefabrication Is a Strategy

The value of electrical prefabrication depends on identifying what should be built in the shop, when it should be fabricated, and how it will integrate with field installation.

DPI's integrated approach brings together BIM coordination, prefabrication design, project planning, construction scheduling, material procurement, and field execution to determine where prefabrication can add value within the larger construction process.

This keeps prefabrication connected to the project—not treated as an isolated production step.
